4. Observation of orbital-angular-momentum-driven temperature modulation via the spin Peltier effect.
4. 通过自旋珀尔帖效应观测轨道角动量驱动的温度调制PMID:日期:2026-10-02Angular-momentum transport provides a pathway for controlling energy flow in solids beyond conventional charge-based mechanisms. Although spin currents are known to mediate spin-caloritronic phenomena such as the spin Peltier effect (SPE), the role of orbital angular momentum (OAM) in heat transport remains largely unexplored. Here, we demonstrate OAM-driven temperature modulation via the SPE in yttrium-iron-garnet/Pt/CuO heterostructures. Using wedge-shaped CuO layers combined with spatially resolved active thermal measurement techniques, we map the continuous thickness dependence and quantitatively disentangle the spin- and orbital-current-mediated contributions within a single device. The orbital-mediated component exhibits a pronounced maximum at an intermediate thickness, revealing a characteristic length scale for interfacial OAM generation and propagation at the Cu/CuO interface. These results provide direct experimental evidence that charge-current-driven OAM can drive SPE-induced temperature modulation, establishing interfacial orbital processes as an additional channel for heat transport and providing a pathway toward spin-orbit caloritronics.

5. Entanglement-induced resilience of quantum dynamics.
PMID:日期:2026-10-02Quantum many-body devices suffer from imperfections that destabilize dynamics and limit scalability. We show that the dynamical growth of entanglement can intrinsically protect generic quantum dynamics against coherent noise and local perturbative noise. Through rigorous theoretical analysis of general quantum dynamics and numerical simulations of spin chains and fermionic lattices, we prove that entanglement entropy growth confines the influence of local Hamiltonian perturbations, thereby suppressing dynamical errors. The degree of protection correlates quantitatively with the entanglement entropy of subsystems, on which the perturbations act, and applies broadly to both analog quantum simulators and real-time control protocols. This entanglement-induced resilience is conceptually distinct from quantum error correction or dynamical decoupling: It passively leverages native many-body correlations without additional qubits, measurements, or control overhead. Our results reveal a generic mechanism linking entanglement growth to dynamical stability and provide practical guidelines for designing noise-resilient quantum devices.

6. A folate receptor-targeted NIR-II probe improves intraoperative imaging and surgery of metastatic ovarian cancer.
6. 一种靶向叶酸受体的NIR-II探针改善转移性卵巢癌的术中成像和手术PMID:日期:2026-10-02Intraoperative fluorescence imaging holds great promise for achieving complete cytoreduction in ovarian cancer, but its clinical utility is currently constrained by the limitations of existing imaging agents. In particular, the leading clinical probe, OTL38, operates in the near-infrared I (NIR-I; 700 to 1000 nanometers) window, which suffers from limited tissue penetration and suboptimal resolution. Here, a folate receptor α (FRα)-targeted NIR-II (1000 to 3000 nanometers) imaging probe was developed by incorporating a 4-(4-iodophenyl)butanoic acid moiety. This structural modification enables albumin binding, thereby prolonging systemic circulation and enhancing accumulation in FRα-positive tumors. In murine models of peritoneal metastasis, our probe enabled precise visualization of occult lesions undetectable by the naked eye. Compared to OTL38, this probe demonstrated superior tumor detection sensitivity (90.20% versus 78.75%) and allowed for the reliable identification of elusive lesions less than or equal to 3 millimeters in diameter. These findings highlight the potential of albumin-binding NIR-II imaging strategies to overcome the limitations of current clinical probes and enhance precision fluorescence-guided surgery.

7. Chip-scale modulation-free laser stabilization using vacuum-gap micro-Fabry-Pérot cavity.
7. 使用真空隙微型法布里-珀罗谐振腔的芯片级无调制激光稳频PMID:日期:2026-10-02Narrow-linewidth lasers are essential for a wide range of applications in atomic clocks and precision sensing, where achieving high-frequency stability is as critical as ensuring scalability, portability, and cost-effectiveness in developing stable laser systems. Conventional electro-optic stabilization techniques, such as Pound-Drever-Hall locking to ultrahigh-finesse resonators held in a vacuum chamber, provide excellent performance but remain challenging to scale. Here, we demonstrate a cavity-coupled interferometric laser stabilization technique implemented on a silicon photonic chip and integrated with a wafer-scale vacuum-gap micro-Fabry-Pérot cavity. The optical cavity operates in air, achieving a factor of 2.0 × 10 and a fractional frequency instability of 1.45 × 10 at 1-second averaging time. Integration of the proposed technique with the compact cavity yields more than 38-fold reduction in the integrated linewidth and 30-decibel suppression of frequency noise at 10-hertz offset. The hybrid-integrated platform provides a route to scalable ultrastable lasers for field-deployable precision systems beyond laboratory environments.

8. Single-photon controlled phase shifts with colloidal quantum dots at room temperature.
PMID:日期:2026-10-02Quantum logic gates based on quantum electrodynamics (QED) in strong coupling regime between quantum dots and microcavities are key elements for scalable quantum computing and all-optical quantum networks. Here, a single colloidal quantum dot was site-selectively positioned onto a dielectric photonic crystal hybrid microcavity using a soft nanoprobe technique, enabling the study of strong coupling between the colloidal quantum dots and bound states in the continuum in the cavity. By combining photoluminescence spectroscopy, Michelson interferometry, and continuous-wave pump-probe technology, the wavelength- and power-dependent phase shifts were systematically characterized. Controlled π-phase shifts of a single photon were experimentally demonstrated in both single colloidal quantum dot and high-concentration colloidal quantum dots coupled microcavity systems. This work provides an experimental basis for the development of room temperature quantum optoelectronic devices, including quantum phase gates and ultralow power optical switches.

9. {"_":"Ultrahigh discharge voltage plateau of 3.2 V achieved in Li-CO batteries using iron polyphthalocyanine.","sub":["2"]}
PMID:日期:2026-10-02Rechargeable lithium-carbon dioxide (Li-CO) batteries offer great potential for greenhouse gas use and high-energy-density storage. However, their practical application is hindered by the formation of a thermodynamically stable LiCO (lithium carbonate) product that is hard to decompose during charging. Highly crystalline and conductive reticular material iron polyphthalocyanine (pFePc) as a solid-state redox mediator into Li-CO batteries tailors the cathode reaction pathway, enabling stable LiCO (lithium oxalate) generation and an extraordinary discharge plateau of 3.2 V beyond the theoretical limit. Beyond delivering an ultrahigh discharge capacity of 28,790 milliampere-hours per gram and reversible cyclability over 1400 hours (cutoff capacity of 1000 milliampere-hours per gram) at 100 milliamperes per gram, the Li-CO batteries exhibit excellent temperature adaptability (-40 to 80°C). The Li-CO pouch cells using pFePc as the solid-state redox mediator achieve a high energy density of 678 watt-hours per kilogram on the basis of total device mass and maintain reversible cycling for 251 hours. Our work pioneers a promising pathway toward practical high-efficiency Li-CO batteries.

10. Targeting the ENO1 metabolic checkpoint via microenvironment-responsive nanotherapeutics promotes postinfarction cardiac repair.
PMID:日期:2026-10-02Myocardial infarction (MI) triggers persistent inflammatory dysregulation, wherein macrophages undergo glycolytic reprogramming and adopt an inflammatory phenotype that impairs cardiac repair. However, the specific metabolic drivers underlying post-MI macrophage dysfunction remain unclear. Here, we identify enolase 1 (ENO1)-a glycolytic enzyme up-regulated in post-MI macrophages-as a critical regulator of macrophage metabolic fate and inflammatory function. To intervene, we engineered an acid-responsive nanocarrier (PECS) that externalizes phosphatidylserine within the acidic infarct microenvironment, facilitating selective macrophage uptake. Intracellular delivery of siENO1 suppressed glycolytic flux, thereby curbing lactate accumulation and relieving its metabolic inhibition of KLF4, which initiated anti-inflammatory reprogramming. In vivo, PECS-loaded siENO1 (siENO1@PECS) treatment attenuated infarct size, fibrosis, and cardiomyocyte apoptosis while improving ventricular function. Collectively, these findings identify ENO1 as a critical metabolic checkpoint in post-MI macrophage regulation and demonstrate a bioresponsive nanocarrier strategy for precise gene modulation to enhance cardiac repair.
