Pitting was most significant at intermediate partial pressures of HS, for which free HS in the pit solution is maximised. Inhibition of pitting at higher partial pressures is attributed to blocking of the pit surface by metal sulphide phases. The key role of pH in the pit solution is to determine the solubility of metal sulphides and the availability of free HS to adsorb on the reacting pit surface and sustain activity.

2. Flow-induced corrosion of absorbable magnesium alloy: In-situ and real-time electrochemical study.
2. 可吸收镁合金的流动诱导腐蚀:原位实时电化学研究PMID:日期:2015-12-24An in-situ and real-time electrochemical study in a vascular bioreactor was designed to analyze corrosion mechanism of magnesium alloy (MgZnCa) under mimetic hydrodynamic conditions. Effect of hydrodynamics on corrosion kinetics, types, rates and products was analyzed. Flow-induced shear stress (FISS) accelerated mass and electron transfer, leading to an increase in uniform and localized corrosions. FISS increased the thickness of uniform corrosion layer, but filiform corrosion decreased this layer resistance at high FISS conditions. FISS also increased the removal rate of localized corrosion products. Impedance-estimated and linear polarization-measured polarization resistances provided a consistent correlation to corrosion rate calculated by computed tomography.

3. Electrochemical behavior of bioactive coatings on cp-Ti surface for dental application.
3. 生物活性涂层在商业纯钛表面对牙科应用的生物电化学行为PMID:日期:2015-11-01The surface characteristics and electrochemical properties of bioactive coatings produced by plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) with calcium, phosphorous, silicon and silver on commercially pure titanium were evaluated. PEO treatment produced a porous oxide layer, which improved the surface topography, and enriched the surface chemistry with bioactive elements, responsible for mimicking bone surface. The surfaces with higher calcium concentration presented antibacterial and biocompability properties with better responses for corrosion and barrier properties, due to the presence of rutile crystalline structure. PEO may be a promising surface treatment option to improve the electrochemical behavior of dental implants mitigating treatment failures.
